Tired of Skipping Breakfast? Akash Akhilesh Is Building Morfuel to Change That
From building a sustainable products business to launching a nutrition-focused startup, Kerala entrepreneur Akash Akhilesh is taking on a problem familiar to millions of busy Indians: finding time for breakfast.
Most startup founders are busy solving problems for other people. But sometimes, the idea for a new business begins with a problem they face themselves.
For Akash Akhilesh, that problem was breakfast.
Between building businesses, managing responsibilities and keeping up with a packed schedule, he noticed how easily the first meal of the day could become an afterthought.
Rather than accepting it as part of a busy lifestyle, Akash decided to build a business around it.
That idea became Morfuel, an Indian food and nutrition startup developing convenient, protein-rich breakfast products for people who don't always have time to prepare a traditional morning meal.
The concept is straightforward: a breakfast alternative that can be prepared in less than a minute without cooking, complicated preparation or a blender.
Morfuel's website currently features two products, Coffee Fuel and Choco Fuel, each advertised as containing 22 grams of whey protein per serving. The products are available in three-sachet packs listed at ₹349, with coffee and chocolate flavours designed to appeal to different preferences.
But Morfuel is not Akash's first attempt at entrepreneurship.
Before entering the nutrition business, he built Green Lover Store, a venture focused on sustainable consumer products. His experience running that business gave him firsthand exposure to the challenges of building a brand, understanding customers and navigating the realities of entrepreneurship.
With Morfuel, Akash is moving into a different market, one shaped by changing lifestyles and growing interest in convenient nutrition.
The startup is positioning itself around a familiar daily challenge. For office workers rushing to meetings, students heading to college or entrepreneurs juggling unpredictable schedules, breakfast often competes with other priorities.
Morfuel wants to make that decision easier by offering a ready-to-mix alternative that fits into a busy routine.
The company's approach also reflects a broader shift in the way emerging consumer brands are being built in India. Rather than trying to appeal to everyone, newer brands are increasingly focusing on specific everyday problems and developing products around them.
For Morfuel, the opportunity lies in convenience. The challenge will be convincing consumers that a packaged breakfast product can earn a regular place in their morning routines.
Its marketing emphasises protein content and quick preparation, but the long-term success of the brand will also depend on factors such as taste, affordability, nutritional transparency and repeat purchases.
Akash is also taking a public approach to building the business. Morfuel's LinkedIn presence describes an intention to document the startup journey, including its progress and setbacks, while working towards a wider market.
The company's public profile identifies Bengaluru as its headquarters, while corporate records show that Morfuel India Private Limited was incorporated in Kerala in August 2026.
For now, Morfuel is an early-stage brand entering a competitive consumer market where convenience alone may not be enough to build lasting customer loyalty.
Yet its underlying idea is easy to understand.
People aren't necessarily skipping breakfast because they don't care about it. Sometimes, they simply don't have the time.
Akash Akhilesh is betting that a quicker, protein-rich option could find a place in those busy mornings.
And for Morfuel, that's where the entrepreneurial journey begins.
